What vaccinations does my dog need?

Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella, up to date, with records from your vet before the first stay. Dogs also need to be on heartworm and flea prevention — one dog arriving with fleas becomes everyone's problem in a shared yard. Send records over ahead of drop-off so check-in is quick.

Do you meet the dog first?

Yes. Every new dog does a temperament and play-style assessment before joining a group. It protects your dog and everyone else in the yard.

Question 3

Is my dog too old, too young or too shy for group play?

Accepted Answer

Tell us at booking and we will work it out at the assessment. Some dogs do better in a small, low-energy group with more rest time, and that is a normal way to stay here.

What should I pack?

Pack light. Food can come in a small container or a Ziploc — pre-portion it if you like, but you do not have to, just send a note on how much they eat per meal. Bring any medication in its original packaging with written instructions, and a comfort item if you want to, though we have dog beds and blankets here.

Do you give medication?

We do, for routine oral medication, as long as it arrives in the original packaging with clear written instructions. Tell us at booking so we can plan around it.

How do you keep group play safe?

Groups are small and matched by size, energy and temperament, and a staff member is in the yard the whole time. Play is broken up with scheduled rest so nobody gets over-tired or over-stimulated.

What about the Louisiana heat?

We are built for it. Misting systems run throughout the artificial turf play areas, and on hot days we turn them on full blast until it feels like a rainforest out there. Add cooled indoor space, sun shades, fans, constant fresh water and the pool, and outdoor time shifts to the cooler parts of the day when it gets extreme.

Where do dogs sleep on an overnight stay?

In their own indoor space — all five dog sheds are fully insulated with AC and fans — with a dog bed and blankets provided if you would rather not pack their own. The raised cots are out in the yard for lounging during the day. Someone is on site through the night.

Can I get updates while I am away?

Yes. We send short videos and photos daily, or every other day, so you can see how the stay is going.

Question 10

How do drop-off and pick-up work?

The guaranteed windows are 8:00 to 10:00 AM or 4:00 to 6:00 PM, seven days a week, except Tuesday evenings which run 4:00 to 5:00 PM. Both windows work for dropping off as well as picking up. We can usually be flexible outside those times — just ask when you book.

Can I look around before I book?

Please do. Tours are by appointment so the yard is calm when you walk it. Call and we will set a time.

How far ahead should I book?

Accepted Answer

As early as you can for holidays and school breaks, which fill first. Ordinary weeks are usually easier, and a call will tell you straight away.
